Baby Kason Thomas went missing on December 19, when his mother’s car was stolen with him in the back seat, along with his twin brother, Kyair Thomas, who was found earlier. Indianapolis resident Shyann Delmar then found a woman called “Mae” who was selling toys. Delmar realized, after giving Mae a ride, that she seemed familiar from the footage that had gone out about the missing babies. She and the woman exchanged numbers, but it wasn’t until later, after placing everything together that the connection was fully made. When Mae called Delmar again, asking if she wanted to buy more toys, Delmar and her cousin, Mecka Curry, came up with a plan to meet the woman and drove her around while contacting the police.

The piece breaks down the connections of a myriad of personalities across industries. It separates nepo-babies with famous relatives from industry babies who have like a relative in the industry, but not notable people. It doesn’t put any judgment on the talent of said actors, but it does acknowledge that the idea of a meritocracy is flawed when it comes to acting. Anyone with a knowledge of cinema history can see that stories of actors who came out from nowhere and launched long-term careers have gotten rarer—the same as in the U.K., where there are becoming fewer and fewer working-class actors. The difference isn’t just about talent and connections, but how that inheritance allows actors to not have to hustle in the same way.

The Daily Beast shared an article from The Sun that claimed a source told the paper Andrew was no longer going to be welcome at the Palace. “The King has made it clear. He isn’t a working royal. He’s on his own,” the report said. “Any presence at the Palace is officially over.” Ever since Prince Andrew’s relationship with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein came to light, along with the accusations from Virginia Giuffre, he’s been slowly removed of multiple titles. Giuffre alleged that, at 17 years old, she was trafficked by Epstein to Andrew. Despite denying the allegations, the former favorite son dropped a large settlement out-of-court.

When David Tennant returned to Doctor Who officially as a Fourteenth Doctor and not just the Tenth again, it felt like an official ode to the old era as the show gets ready to welcome the upcoming first Black Doctor Who incarnation with Ncuti Gatwa. As excited as I am for Gatwa (and it is the thing making me sit down and finish watching that horrible post-River Song era of Who), Donna returning hits me right in my sweet spot.

Promises have been made, especially by new DC Films co-CEO James Gunn online. While I take his intentions on good faith, I do think he needs to get off Twitter—not because he is doing anything wrong, but because (a) it is a terrible, bad faith platform, and (b) nothing he says can sway doubts until we are able to see actually developments. Right now, the entire roster of the DCEU is being shaken up, and while it may not have been perfect, it was all we had.
