The Boys season 4 finale may have just saved the latest season of the superhero drama from being meh. From important character deaths to a mid-credits scene that had every screaming, the penultimate season finale truly embodied diabolical. But wait, where was A-Train?

Amidst all the murder and mayhem, there was one major character that was rather conspicuous in his absence. Our friendly neighborhood speedster did not board the finale train at all! Instead, the episode opened with a newscaster announcing that Vought Studios had decided to scrap the movie Training A-Train (the one with Will Ferrell) despite the production being nearly complete, because they believed they could make more money that way. Pfft!

Twisters, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell, is a standalone sequel to the 1996 Twister and doesn’t really borrow much from the original. But the film did find a way to pay tribute to Bill Paxton, the star of Twister, and it’s actually kind of sweet!

In Twister, Bill Paxton played storm chaser-turned-TV weatherman Bill Harding, who arrives in Oklahoma to get his ex-wife Jo (Helen Hunt) to sign divorce papers, so he can remarry, but ends up returning to his passion for chasing tornadoes along with his old team and, well, Jo. Similar to what Jurassic Park did for paleontology, Twister’s release caused a major upswing in the number of people opting to study meteorology in the United States. When Paxton passed away in 2017, storm chasers even paid tribute to him by spelling his initials using the Spotter Network.

You never forget your first dragon. With the Battle of Rook’s Rest fresh in our memory thanks to House of The Dragon, we can’t help but fondly remember the first time we loved and lost the dragons of Valyria on screen—Daenerys Targaryen’s three babies, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion in Game of Thrones.

It’s particularly sentimental to think of Dany’s dragons, since we saw a glimpse of them as eggs in House of The Dragon. Director Geeta Vasant Patel confirmed that the dragons we see Rhaenyra send away for safekeeping with Rhaena Targaryen are indeed the petrified dragon eggs that Daenerys received from Magister Illyrio Mopatis upon her wedding to Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones

House of The Dragon fans would probably agree that Ser Otto Hightower’s (Rhys Ifans) departure from King’s Landing has left a void. There’s no one to slow-turn, heavily sigh, and remark upon Targaryens’ stupidity. Enter: Ser Simon Strong, castellan of Harrenhal and the new Sass of the King… consort.

According to the books, Ser Simon Strong (Sir Simon Russell Beale), the great uncle of Lord Larys Strong (Matthew Needham), was a knight. By the time we meet him in House of The Dragon season 2, though, he is an old man, who saw through his great-nephew’s devious plan to burn his father Lord Lyonel Strong (Gavin Spokes) and his brother Ser Harwin Strong (Ryan Corr) alive at Harrenhal.
