The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy almost looks like it could fit as the fourth game in the Danganronpa series, but according to the creators, Too Kyo Games and Media Vision, this game will be a “new game of extremes and despair.”

The main character is forcibly enrolled in a mysterious school managed by an adorable mascot. His allies die one by one as they’re all forced to defend the school from strange, alien-like beings. Wait, this sounds familiar. This almost all seems like the Danganronpa series, except Takumi, the main character, isn’t trying to break out of the school. He’s not forced to solve mysteries surrounding his school and his classmates, either, to survive.

Fans have long been waiting for Black Clover’s latest season. Although it’s too soon to speculate when that will be, the manga has also been slow in releasing its latest chapters. Yuki Tabata, the manga’s author, has reportedly been going through health issues.

Manga updates for Black Clover have shifted chapter releases to once every three months. Luckily for fans, on August 8, 2024, Black Clover will be coming out with two new chapters. Chapter 372 will consist of 23 pages, while Chapter 373 will have a total of 25 pages. It’s not a lot of pages, but they’re enough to conclude the events of the previous chapter, which left off on an exciting cliffhanger.

One of the major arcs of this second season of House of the Dragon so far is Daemon taking up residence in Harrenhal.

This move comes with the explicit goal of bringing the various river lords over to Rhaenyra’s cause (and using their armies against the Greens’) and the more implicit one of putting some distance between himself and his wife after she pretty much kicked him out of Dragonstone in episode 2. The reason being that little incident known as Blood and Cheese.

I remember learning about Hello Kitty’s true nature in the mid-2010s. I immediately, conveniently tossed it out of my head. It simply hurt my brain too much to process that Hello Kitty was not a kitty. She is a little girl. Hello Kitty.

Is it Bushwick rooftop weed? No! It’s the unkillable Tree of Heaven as a metaphor for perseverance! A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith is the tale of Francie Nolan, a young girl growing up in Williamsburg in the early 20th century. There are no yuppies at coffeeshops sucking down six dollar cold brews here. It’s all working class people, down on their luck and dreaming of better lives. Francie’s family is one of them. Her mom works like a dog, while her dad drinks like a fish. And all she wants is an education to make her way in the world.

Sometimes shorter is better. Sometimes you can squeeze a whole book’s worth of feelings into a few pages. The short story is the Holy Grail of literary achievement, and these are the ten best of all time.

The Yellow Wallpaper

The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is both one of the finest works of horror fiction and a brilliant work of early feminist literature. Written in the 19th century, The Yellow Wallpaper tells the story of a woman who is locked away in a room by her husband and doctor in order to treat her “nervous condition.” As the woman continues to remain in solitude, she begins seeing another woman trapped in the yellow wallpaper that covers the room. And thus, a slow descent into madness begins. The best part? By going absolutely feral, the woman begins to experience a sort of freedom of her own.

Salman Rushdie’s The Satanic Verses got the author in a boatload of trouble. The book was banned in the U.S. by title alone, it was deemed heretical to the tenants of Islam by Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomein of Iran, who issued a fatwa against the author calling for his murder. Why? The book is a rhapsodic recount of Islamic history and myth, where plane crash survivor Gabriel takes on the aspect of the Islamic angel Jibreel (the angel Gabriel in Christianity) and is whisked between the material and the supernatural planes. It must be read to be believed.

Dragons are hands down one of the coolest parts of the Song of Ice and Fire universe. Maybe it’s because I’ve always been a dragon girlie or maybe it’s because there’s honestly nothing bad to say about massive fire-breathing, flying lizards with a psychic bond to their chosen human.

While we only know the dragons that have flown over Westeros from the Conquest onward, that’s still more than enough to create a wide group of characters—because they are characters, there’s no arguing that—with their separate personalities and storylines. So here are the twelve best ever mentioned in Fire & Blood, The World of Ice and Fire, and anywhere in between—based on both their role in the story and my personal preference.

The show isn’t attached to a network or streamer yet but is set to be directed and executive-produced by Brian A. Metcalf, who has collaborated with Pellegrino in the past on Underdeveloped. After a five-year hiatus, The Terror is finally set to return for a third season, which will tackle Victor LaValle’s thriller novel The Devil in Silver.

The Terror is an anthology horror series that first premiered in 2018. Season 1 was inspired by Dan Simmons’ novel The Terror, which is a fictionalized account of Captain Sir John Franklin’s infamous polar expedition, in which the ships HMS Terror and HMS Erebus were lost. The show received highly positive reviews as it was hailed as one of the spookiest shows of the year. Hence, it wasn’t long before it tackled another story in season 2, which was subtitled The Terror: Infamy. The second season was based on the folklore tale of Bakemono.

The newest trailer features an abundance of jokes, puns, and spooky setpieces, leaving many wondering just how scary and appropriate it is for children. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice carries a PG-13 MPAA rating, meaning some of the content may be inappropriate for pre-teens and parents/guardians should exert caution. In this case, the sequel earns its rating for violent content, macabre and bloody images, strong language, some suggestive material and brief drug use.

Lee Isaac Chung has made one of my favorite movies of the year: Twisters. It is action-packed, exciting, and a romantic comedy I didn’t know I needed! But he almost cut the best scene from the movie before his editing room yelled at him to keep it.

While you want to cheer at many great moments throughout Twisters, there is one scene that has everyone shouting: Glen Powell walking in the rain in a white shirt. The scene in question comes after Tyler Owens (Powell) goes to visit Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones) at her mother’s house. He stays the night in the guest room, of course, and leaves the next morning in the rain.
